About the build

Built for one journey

The starting point for this build was a courier container mounted on a Mercedes Sprinter 907 chassis — a box body that offers a far larger and more regular living area than a conventional panel van. We turned that space into a comfortable, all-aluminium home on wheels for two, ready for long journeys in any conditions.

Energy independence comes from a 300Ah LiFePO4 house battery, charged by 800W of solar panels, Victron Orion XS 2x50A DC-DC chargers and a 230V/40A mains charger. A 2000W inverter powers the 230V appliances, with everything tied together by a Simarine control and monitoring system. Warmth is handled by a Truma Combi 6E iNet X, while additional insulation delivers very good thermal performance well beyond the season.

The water system comprises two fresh-water tanks holding 170L combined and heated greywater tanks of 130L with electric drain valves and a monitoring camera. A reverse-osmosis filtration system delivers drinking water straight from the tap. The kitchen features a Yolco RL85 refrigerator and a Solgaz gas cooktop fed from a suspended gas tank, lit by a large 70x50 roof window. Sanitation is taken care of by a Cinderella Travel Diesel combustion toilet.

The interior is finished with counters and fronts in durable HPL, combining resilience with a clean, showroom aesthetic. Three roof windows with MaxxFan fans and a Thule Omnistor 6300 awning round out the comfort, a side-door insect screen and cargo securing rails add everyday function, and a GSM router with an external antenna keeps you connected on the road.
